Autism has brought me many gifts. First of all no matter what I have never regreted being Nicholas mother. He and his sister Emily are my greatest blessing. Autism has given me some of the most wonderful friends that I could imagine it is from these friends that the best attributes of people is simple kindness, and finally before I was enrolled into this army I was a pretty unique person. I stayed away from conflict and had little self-confidence, and well I may never have the spot light personality I also discovered that I am brave I have found that I can fight the fight. I have come to appreciate my own tenacity it has not only allowed me to survive in the end it is what helped me stay together to help my son. Autism has made me what I am today. I find out that I like and respect this Rosy more than the one that came before everyday that I wake up I am proud to be me.
